Compare digital business cards: the criteria for 2026
How to judge a digital business card in 2026: a free start, a QR code with no app, wallet, NFC, and where the data is stored.

Anyone searching for a digital business card finds many providers with similar promises: free, QR code, wallet, no paper. The difference sits in a few points you can check before you sign up.
These points decide it
A free start. A plan you can use for good, without a credit card, is the right way to test. Check what is actually included: a card, a QR code and a link, or only a preview.
Sharing with no app for the recipient. The other person should open the card in the browser and save the contact. A required app on their side slows the exchange down.
A QR code that stays current. A static code from a generator stores the details inside the code. When your number changes, you print again. A profile link stays the same. The content does not.
Wallet and NFC. Apple Wallet and Google Wallet are convenient, but often part of a paid plan. NFC needs a card or a sticker. Both are extras, not the foundation.
Storage location and contract. For companies, the server location, a data processing agreement and central admin matter. A pretty profile is not enough then.
What oneVcard covers
With oneVcard you create the digital business card for free. Lite includes one card and sharing by QR code, link and NFC. The recipient needs no app. Premium adds Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, removed branding and analytics. Prices are on the pricing page.
Data sits in ISO 27001 data centers in Falkenstein and Nuremberg. Teams manage cards centrally, import via CSV and can connect HR or CRM systems. If you want a physical product, the same card works with Metal, Classic or Badge.
What to ask other providers
The market is crowded, from European team products to US providers with a strong free plan. Stars in comparison articles do not replace your own questions:
- Does the free plan stay free, and what is missing from it?
- Does the QR code open a profile, or are the details fixed inside the code?
- Does the recipient need an app or an account?
- Which country hosts the servers, and is there a data processing agreement?
- Can many cards be created centrally, or is every card its own account?
If hosting in Germany, a permanently free start and sharing without an app matter to you, oneVcard is built for that. The setup itself is on Create a digital business card.
